Introduction

Navarro is considered by many admirers to be a model of trumpet excellence, and so it is understandable that students of jazz trumpet style would benefit from a careful examination of his solos. As a result, many transcriptions from recorded solos to standard musical notation have been done. Perhaps the best known is the collection of Navarro transcriptions found in David N. Baker's book The Jazz Style of Fats Navarro. This section of the Webpage presents previously unpublished transcriptions of Navarro solos in PDF format for the use of music students and scholars.
