UPCOMING EVENTS...
The School of Computer Science and Information Systems is planning to host a number of exciting events
in the near future: several on the New York City campus, the other in Pleasantville. The first is a
series of talks on the timely topic of Internet security, the second an Information Session
focusing on the new M.S. in Software Design and Development program, and the third a FIRST Lego League Tournament.

Internet Security Expert to Speak
Dr. Hal Berghel
Dr. Hal Berghel, an expert on Internet security and forensics and Distinguished ACM Lecturer, has been
invited to deliver a series of talks to CSIS faculty, students, and alumni/ae. The student talk
“Hacking 2003: Beyond Viruses and Trojan Horses” scheduled for Monday, November 3, is open to the
entire Pace community.

Come to an information session devoted entirely to our new M.S. in Software Design and Development to be
offered on our NYC campus for the first time in Spring 2004. The specifics are:

First Lego League Tournament a First for Pace
On Sunday, February 8, 2004, children ages 9-14 will assemble on the Pleasantville campus to participate
in a FIRST Lego League Tournament. The tournament was founded by Dean Kamen, a well-known inventor,
whose FIRST Organization teamed up with the Lego Company to create a competition for
kids that will help them learn about science and technology in a fun and exciting way.
