Wiglaf is a thane of Beowulf. He is the only one who is brave enough to volunteer to help fight the evil dragon. Wiglaf defeats the dragon after Beowulf is severely injured. We see a few similarities between Beowulf and Wiglaf. Both of them are willing to risk their life to save others. Like Beowulf, Wiglaf is prepared to die in battle if he does not defeat the dragon.
