Sir Gromer is the brother of Dame Ragnell. He attempts to kill King Arthur
because they are in rivalry. King Arthur has given a piece of Gromer's land to Sir Gawain.
Dame Ragnell gives King Arthur the answer to Sir Gromer's riddle which almost makes
the king lose his life. However, after the wedding of Dame Ragnell and Sir Gawain, Sir Gromer
returns to the Round Table of King Arthur's court. Gromer is also mentioned by Sir Thomas Malory in
Morte Darthur as one of the knights of the Round Table.
