PAGAN AND CHRISTIAN ELEMENTS

Fate is an important concept in Beowulf, and it is mentioned from both pagan and Christian points of view. Christianity and paganism co-existed in Anglo-Saxon culture. The contrast of good and evil is a theme that exists in Beowulf. Beowulf represents good, and it is God who has given him strength while Grendel represents evil and chaos.
