THE DEFINITION OF VALHALLA:
Valhalla is the hall of slain warriors, ruled by the king of the gods, Odin in the realm of the gods, Asgard. Valhalla is depicted as a splendid palace, roofed with shields, where the warriors feast on the flesh of a boar slaughtered daily and made whole again each evening. The hall has 540 doors of the palace, through each of which 800 heroes can walk abreast. Then they will be able to fight at the side of Odin against the giants. Warrior maidens called Valkyries bring the souls of heroic soldiers killed in battle to Valhalla. The heroes fight during the day, but their wounds healed before night, when they banquet with Odin.
