Q: How can I gain access to these resources?

 

A: There are two ways to gain access to these resources.
 
  • Your instructor has requested accounts for your class. In this case, your instructor will provide you with the necessary details.
  • A faculty advisor makes a special request on your behalf. Faculty advisors can make special requests at this website.

 

Q: How long will my account be available?

 

A: Your account will remain active until six weeks after the completion of your class.

 

Q: Are my files backed up?

 

A: CSIS does not backup student files. Users are responsible for backing up files and data

 

Q: What is the appropriate use policy that applies to these resources?

 

A:

When using CSIS servers, users tacitly agree to the following:

 
  • Appropriate Use Policy for Information Technology

  • All CSIS resources will be monitored and sessions will be logged.
  • All CSIS services are provided as is.
  • User access to CSIS systems can be revoked at any time.
  • CSIS student systems are development environments and therefore are less stable than other systems with which you are accustomed. In other words, expect and plan for some downtime.
  • Users are responsible for maintaining backups.
  • Accounts on CSIS servers are for Pace University coursework only.
  • CSIS server accounts will be disabled at the end of each semester.
