Computer Vision
Perception is initiated through sensors. In this way, vision is
similar to speech recognition.
So S = f(W), where
- S = sensory stimulus
- W = world (including agent)
- f = way in which world generates sensory stimuli
We want W = f-1(S). In general we will have
incomplete, ambiguous and unnecessary information.
The applications for vision include:
- object recognition
- manipulation
- navigation
