Excel and math content

Effective use of MS Excel to organize and graph data. Mean, median, mode & range are included & accurate, with correct units of measure. Graph is appealing, titled & easy to read.

MS Excel was used proficiently to input data and calculate all of the necessary measures. Graph is labeled and easy to read.

May be lacking one of the statistical measures such as median, or mode. Calculations might be incorrect. Graph might not be labeled.

PowerPoint Presentation

 

Great Appearance, easy to read, information and graph are included, at least 3 sound conclusions are identified & supported by data to persuade and inform audience. Synthesized information to explain findings clearly and thoroughly.

Presentation was easy to read. It includes data and findings. Students made 3 conclusions and observations about their data. Background information was included as well to brief audience. Made a substantial attempt to inform and persuade during presentation.

Students may or may not have included a clear graph showing their data analysis. Their conclusions and argument may be weak and very vague. More background information could have been found to create a more appealing and interesting presentation.

Use of Class Time

Students (pair) were focused on the task during workshop days. The pair collaborated and progressed together. Project was completed thoroughly and on time, with all essential components.

Students were focused for the most part. They may have needed a couple reminders to stay on task.Project was presented on time.

Students were easily sidetracked and may have needed constant reminders to stay focused on the task. Project may have been handed in late due to lack of focus.
