Each team will prepare a presentation (nominally 5 - 10
minutes duration, followed by brief Q&A) on a topic related to
LANs, Internet applications, Network Security, or related topics, to be
delivered at the
class meeting on 4/28. Teams must be at most 3 members.
Description of the Presentation
Your presentation should be carefully organized to cover the following:
- Background - including the need for the technology, a
history of its evolution. and an example of its use.
- Technical Description – a description of the technical
characteristics and operation, concentrating on issues related to our
coverage in the course.
- Evaluation – issues such as acceptance, attractiveness,
alternatives, cost, etc.
The level of coverage in the Technical Description should be
consistent with the course.
Procedure and Delivery
Each team should select a project leader for the project to
coordinate and act as my primary contact. This may be the person
with the most interest/expertise in the topic. There are three deliverables:
Topic Web Page - For
each topic, a simple Topic Web Page
should be prepared and posted on the Web. See the Sample Topic
Web Page.
Summary and
References - Your HTML Summary

report on your
topic. Refer to the Sample Summary and
References Page in COURSE
DOCUMENTS.

a copy of your Powerpoint Presentation as a ppt file. See Guidelines
for PowerPoint Presentations. Be sure to include a revision
date below title, a clear number and title for each figure and table,
