This project provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in designing and creating a professional Web site. In addition to being aesthetic, the site should be optimized for performance. References relating to performance include:

The site should provide a search mechanism so that visitors to the site can search for specific items. It should also track the number of visitors to the site, both new and repeat, and the number of hits on each page of the site, and have a convenient way of presenting this information to the site administrator. The site should also allow visitors to request information and to submit an application online, and also track requests, applications, etc.
