Using Immersive VR for Treating Neuropathic Pain in People with Spinal Cord Injury

Project Description

Burke Rehabilitation Hospital has developed a series of Virtual Reality (VR) programs for treating neuropathic pain in individuals with spinal cord injury, but interacting with the program is difficult.

This project needs a team to help develop an interface between the Gear VR and a tablet so that caregivers and therapists can more easily expose SCI survivors to VR content that can help to decrease their symptoms. [Gear VR goggles will be supplied by Samsung].

Students will be expected to get user feedback on the game utilizing the Presence Questionnaire and Immersive Tendencies Questionnaire surveys for feedback, then incorporating the appropriate suggestions.

This project is a continuation of last semester's project, see 2016 Fall Project Paper
