Tournament Registration 2013-14

Tournament registration will open on Saturday, October 12 at 9 AM. All teams must register for events through this web site.

In order to register, the team must be registered with FIRST for the current season, and we will need the email address of the primary team contact as reported to the FIRST team system (TIMS).

All registrations will be timestamped in the order they are received. Register early for your best chance at getting into your desired event!

ELIGIBILITY

Hudson Valley NY Region teams are guaranteed at least one Qualifying Tournament (QT) position as long as they register within the time window provided. Registration to each tournament is restricted until four weeks before the event date.

Based on the results of a recent team survey, we are planning enough capacity to permit every team to participate in a second QT if they wish.

As in our past seasons, teams outside the region we serve will be allowed to participate in our events, space permitting.

For each tournament, we will accept teams based on their registration timestamp and their classification in one of the following groups:

  1. Hudson Valley NY Region teams requesting their first qualifying tournament (QT)
  2. Hudson Valley NY Region teams requesting a second QT
  3. Outside teams requesting participation at a QT
  4. Hudson Valley NY Region teams requesting a third QT

 

Teams in category 1 will be accepted into the tournament within 1-2 days of registering, up to event capacity, until 4 weeks before the event.

Teams in other categories will be placed on a waiting list. At least 4 weeks before the event, we will begin accepting teams, up to event capacity, in category 2. If space still remains, we will begin accepting teams in categories 3 and 4.

Based on expected demand, outside teams will be permitted to participate in only one Hudson Valley NY Qualifying Tournament. To accommodate as many diverse groups as possible, an outside school/organization registering more than one team will have second and subsequent teams placed below any group having only one team on the wait list.

FEES

Each Qualifying Tournament has a participation fee of $100. All fees are payable to Pace University. We must receive payment for a tournament at least one week prior to the event. The team must also have paid its registration fee to FIRST by that time. Payments can be accepted by check or by purchase order. Invoices can be created and emailed upon request.

DO NOT send payment until notice of acceptance to an event is received.

Teams advancing to the championship will pay a $200 fee for that tournament.
