Questions to Focus your
Information Collection
As you begin to collect information for your chosen role, consider the following questions:
1. What
position on the rainforest dilemma do you take (are you in favor or against)?
2. Why do
you take that position? (Pay attention to occupation, outlook, etc.)
3. What
data leads you to believe that your position is correct? (Look for sources that
support your position)
4. What are
some ways in which society can adopt your position? (Ideas to make your
position the accepted one)
5. How can society
put your position into action? (Consider
steps necessary to make your plan a reality)
6. How can society
deal with those who disagree with your position? (Think of possible compromises
to your plan)
These questions are just some questions to begin to think
about. As you collect more and more
information, you will come across other questions. Remember, this is not a situation with one easy-to-find answer!
