PROCESS

                   

 

  1. Each student will select a slip from a hat. The slip will designate:
  • Group (1 to 6)
  • Area of expertise
  • Ecologically sensitive area

    Experts in each group are:
  • Biodiversity expert
  • Aesthetics and views expert
  • Weather expert
  • Waste management and removal

              

    2.    Ecologically sensitive areas are:
  • A quaking bog
  • A vernal pool
  • A costal salt pond
  • A barrier beach
  • A major dune system
  • A pitch pine/scrub oak barrier forest

            

    3.    Teams should meet and form a strategy regarding:
  • The time line to completion (the project is due 1 month from today)
  • The research agenda and responsibilities
  • The format of the final presentation.
  • Schedule further team meetings to support each other and monitor progress.
  • I am available to meet with any group or individual members either before class or during 10th period.

             

    4.   Complete the research:
  • Draw conclusions
  • Create final presentation in a format of your team's choosing (ex, PP, video, poster boards, etc.)
  • I will reserve computer time (as requested by teams or individual members) in the Info Center.  This is critical for those of you who do not have Internet access at home.

          

     5.   Present final conclusions:
  • Presentation should be 20 minutes long
  • There will be 10 minutes at the end for questions
  • Teams will be called on in numeric order for the presentations
  • Presentations will be over a 3 day period after completion of the project
  • All members of the group must participate in the final presentation
