1. You will be working in a team that will consist of 4 members. Each member will be assigned a role:
Roles
A scientist who studies their genetic makeup (believes in
Nature)
The scientist will study DNA Karyotypes and locate where each of these gene mutation occurs.
Each of the twins will research their diseases and BOTH the impact of
environment and genetics on their disease.
Twin A:
From Florida (with
Melanoma)-on chromosome 1
Twin
B: From NYC (with Asthma)-on
chromosome 11
An environmentalist studying the
environment in Florida and in NYC (believes in
Nurture)
The environmentalist will study the environmental conditions which are linked to these diseases.
2. Once you have researched and read through the information on your role and have completed your individual assignments, your group needs to spend some time discussing how you feel about the Nature VS Nurture debate.

3. Make a chart listing the facts supporting both positions. Each team member should write a one-page essay supporting their position about this debate. Be sure to cite the resources you used.
4. Using the information in your essay supporting your position, develop an oral presentation for your class. Make sure that everyone in your group participates in the final product. For which position do you have the most support?
