Guidelines for All Assignments


Assignments are extremely important. By completing homework assignments you will learn key concepts and discover new ideas. This is achieved by challenging yourself and attacking numerous problems.

Read the Following Rules for Assignments Carefully
(These Rules will be Strictly Enforced)

  1. To be accepted for credit each assignment MUST have a cover page displaying the following information:

  2. Your assignment MUST be stapled or bound to be accepted for credit.

  3. Your assignment must be typed.

  4. All assignments must be submitted on the due date during the first 10 minutes of class. If you are unable to attend class, you may submit your assignment early to your professor. If you unexpectedly missed class, see the professor.

  5. Late assignments will not be accepted during the term.

  6. It is much better to submit a partially completed assignment than it is to not submit an assignment at all.

  7. All assignments must be neat and legible. Credit will not be given for components of an assignment that are sloppy or illegible.

  8. You are expected to complete all of the homework assignments in this course. Missing assignments will reduce your course grade.

  9. You must show all work and explain how you obtained your answers. Your approach to solving a problem is as important as your answer. When you are unable to solve a problem, discuss your approach and explain why you were stuck. Do not simply leave it blank!

  10. It is expected that the homeworks be your own work. You are encouraged to discuss the intellectual aspects of assignments with one another. However, each individual is responsible for formulating a solution in his/her own words. All students submitting the same or suspiciously similar assignments will receive a grade of zero and be penalized.

  11. Solutions to assignments may be posted on the web after the due date. Grades will be posted on the web.
