In the Thinking Through Computing Learning Community, as a class, we looked at the
connection between Logic and Computer Science. We used the logical problem solving and reasoning learned in
Logic and applied it to computer Science. The topics studied in logic were problem solving, the difference between
induction and deduction; explanation and definition and the use of symbols to develop procedures for evaluating various kinds
of arguments. While in CIS 101 the topics include designing and programming executable Visual Basic programs, and designing a
web page and databases. Both courses were enhanced with an online component.
