Military Technology

Military technology has advanced throughout the years but the technologies they are trying to develop are far too abstract and difficult to develop with people who are not experts in those fields. The reason why people do not want to work on these types of projects is because the result of this advance technology could have a very bad effect on human kind.

Students at John Hopkins University developed a blimp that is very similar to military technology. This blimp is 17- foot long and filled with helium. With sophisticated electronics and four propellers this blimp is able to move autonomously. The objective of making this blimp was to keep the cost down to a minimum the reason for this was “because the full-size system is envisioned as a relatively inexpensive disposable airship that would hover high over a military location for tow or four weeks, sending pictures of activity on the group and relaying communications. “(Johns Hopkins University) The cost of this blimp was about $12000.

Developing these technologies was hard for these students, “One of the things we learned was that theory doesn’t always work out. We had to get some outside help”(Keim) The military has a lot of theories for new technologies but sometimes it takes awhile for them to get developed. One of the most important things is to keep things simple and low cost. The more complex the project the more money and time it will take to develop, and the probabilities it will work are not always high.
