This is an article mainly focused on the importance of e-mail management.  It uses the case against ENRON as an example.  In the ENRON case, some e-mail documents were used as evidence.

The author explains that by archiving and managing e-mails, companies can stop and destroy sensitive messages such as sexual harassment, insider trading and other crucial topics that may lead the company to court.  Also, it may help to eliminate the possibility of spreading e-mails that contain worms within the company.  The estimation shown in this article indicates that 80 percent of company communications are done via e-mails or instant messaging software.

AXS-One’s vice president also predicts in this article that within 3 to 5 years, all the large organizations will put some sort of managing system into operation, which will benefit their HR, IT, finance and legal departments.
