Beowulf
is a Christian epic that was written about 1200 years ago in the first
half of the eighth century. This poem reflects some pagan traditions of
the Anglo-Saxon
society when people believed in multiple gods, superheroes, giants and
dragons. The fight between pagan heroes and monsters escalates into infinite
battle between good and evil embodied in the Christian religion later.
Thus, the primary idea that comes through the poem is the triumph of good
over evil. And Beowulf, the main character of the story, thanks to his
supernatural power, saves the world from terrible monsters such as Grendel
and his mother, who are both described as kin af Cain.
