Welcome Noble Thanes!!
Welcome, worthy medieval thanes! You have voyaged from
far off distant lands. Now you must rest a while. Come lay
down your heavy traveling harnesses and join us in our renowned
mead hall. Stay with us for the night until tomorrow
morning breaks when you will continue your travels to seek out that which
you are so eager to find. Come sit with us, drink our mead and be merry.
We have for you and your companions many lovely and friendly maidens who are ready
for your choosing. Be not afraid, “for here each earl is true to the other, mild in heart,
loyal to his liege-lord” (Beowulf, p. 91).
