• Probability theory assigns a degree of belief between 0 and 1 in either being true or false.

• This summarizes the agent's uncertainty.

• Probabilities are usually statistically determined.

• This is not degree of truth, as in fuzzy logic.

• Prior probabilities reflect unconditional belief: P(Sentence).

• Posterior or conditional probabilities reflect belief based on other beliefs or perceptions: P(Sentence|Percepts).
