Dr. Darren R. Hayes

Darren Hayes is a leading expert in the field of computer forensics and security. He is a frequent speaker at various conferences both domestically and internationally. At Pace University, he is the Computer Information Systems Program Chair and manages courses for more than 2,000 students annually. In this capacity, he has cultivated partnerships with the New York Public Library, United Nations, Department of Parks and Recreation, New York Police Department and many other respected agencies. He also manages the computer forensics laboratory, where he conducts research with computer science and information systems graduates. Much of this research has been published through the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) publications. Darren is also the current Extern Examiner for the Master of Science in Computer Forensics degree, at his alma mater - University College Dublin. He also enjoys his other position as Professional Training Consultant, in Computer Forensics, for the Department of Education in New York City. In this position, he has worked on the computer forensics curriculum, developed by Pace University, for a number of high schools throughout New York City. Darren has been a Super Reviewer for a number of publications for Pearson Prentice Hall and is the co-author of Skills for Success with Microsoft Access 2010 Comprehensive, which is scheduled to be published in Summer 2010. Darren was born in Dublin, Ireland. In 1990, he began his career with Cantor Fitzgerald at the World Trade Center. Prior to entering academia, he spent more than a decade in the financial services industry.

Computer Information Systems (CIS) Program Chair & Lecturer
Instructed both graduate and undergraduate students. Subjects taught include Corporate Planning & Policy, Web Design, Intergenerational Computing, Geographic Information Systems and Introduction to Computing.
As CIS Program Chair, managed courses for approximately 2,000 students annually. Responsibilities have included scheduling, faculty training and student advisement. Management and oversight of service learning courses and cultivated relationships with non-profit organizations, including the United Nations. Organized computer forensics events at Pace. Hosted and completed computer forensics training in Helix, X-Ways, FTK and WebCase. Numerous peer-reviewed publications, particularly in computer forensics. From 2003 to 2006, taught at Pace as an adjunct professor.
Professional Training Consultant
Consulted and trained New York City Department of Education teachers. Administered the development of a computer forensics curriculum for a number of high schools in New York City.
Extern Examiner
External Examiner for University College Dublin, Ireland. Review examinations for the Master of Science in Computing and Cybercrime Investigation degree program.

Super Reviewer on three college textbooks for Pearson Publishing. More recently, co-authored Skills for Success with Access 2010. The book was published August, 2010.
