Process

Your booklet will consist of six pages of information and pictures (one page of information and three pictures for each of six separate tourist sites you must select.) There are no restrictions on the types of places you can chose from, however, each site must have a significant historical background to support the reason you have selected it.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

1.) Meet with the other member of your group and determine what six tourist sites you will be collecting information about. Split up the assignment so that each group member is responsible for collecting information on three of the tourist sites. Keep in mind that the tourist sites are not limited to New York City. You can choose a location anywhere in the State of New York. Before you start writing the assignment, submit a list to me indicating what sites each group member will be working on.

2.) Once the information has been collected, use Microsoft Word to write one page about each of the sites. Make sure that you save your work on a disk so that you can combine your work, with the work of your partner. Included in each of these pages should be the answers to the following questions: Why did you choose the site? What is the historical significance of the site? What will the President and First Lady learn about the site that they most likely did not already know?

3.) After each page of the booklet is written, use the internet to find interesting pictures about each site. You should select three pictures for each page you have written. Save the images, and use Photoshop to neatly cut and paste the pictures into the Word Document. (Please remember to be neat. If you do not want to use an entire image, use Photoshop to cut and paste the pieces of the picture that you want.)

4.) After each group member has completed their portion of the assignment, they should meet with their floppy disks to combine their work.

5.) Once the work has been combined, the group members should collectively create a cover page using Photoshop. (The cover page should be colorful, and have pictures on it from each of the six sites that were selected.)

6.) Punch wholes in the document using a whole puncher, and then place it into the binder I have provided you. Neatly paste the cover sheet on the front of the binder.
