My Inspirations and Dream Job

In eighth grade, I got a short story published. It felt so great to see people read and truly enjoy my writing. I have always had a love for writing, so to explore that love, I submitted some short stories and poems into contests sponsored by Writer's Digest. Although, I was not a winner of either contest, I cherish the experience of entering a contest where I competed with many more seasoned writers. In high school, I joined The Main Street Journal. This is the best decision I made in my high school career. It allowed me to explore my passion for writing and inspired me to aspire to be world renowned for this particular craft. Joining the newspaper allowed me to grow my craft. As I have watched people read my articles, I have enjoyed how my readers have become inspired and enlightened by my words.

In six years, I hope to be on my way to publishing a bestselling book, writing for a major news outlet or fashion magazine. Attainment of my dreams will allow me to have enough money to give back to the world that shaped me into what I will become. Specifically, I plan to have a big hand in foster care, adoptions and mentoring troubled girls without a stable home. I will demonstrate to them that your background does not define you; it shapes you if you believe you are great. I know that my future success will be the result of my good foundation, strong will, determination, and ability to learn from all of my experiences.

My Role Models

Family Role Models

My role models include the women in my family who have raised me to be strong, independent, and to never give less than 100% in whatever I do. My role models also include the women of color who have come before me to break barriers and pave a path for me and other women after me to succeed.
