• It will be your job to plan the event – from Cooking to Decorations to Entertainment. Mrs. Knight would like a proposal from each group by Friday. All she is telling you is that there will be 400 students and 35 adults at the picnic. She would like to remind you that the day should be full of games, music, and food. Mrs. Knight
Your project will be graded on the following criteria:
• The skills that you learn in math class do have applications in the real world, and the Internet is a great resource for finding things that you need, even when you didn’t know that you needed them. How would you answer the following questions:
– Did you have any idea that there were so many different things incorporated into having a successful picnic?
– Would it have been easier to have done your calculations and fliers by hand, as opposed to a spreadsheet, or publication program?
– How about if, after giving your presentation, Mrs. Knight informed you there were going to be 100 more people coming?
– How difficult would it have been to keep track of the inventory, and budget, of your purchases if you had not used a spreadsheet?
