Activity 1: Can You Guess which Celebrity as this Tattoo?
Open up the file labeled "Musicians, Athletes, Actors, and Models" in the Tattoo folder in Ms. Bermack's class. Take out your notebooks, and write down the name of the celebrities that are famous for these tattoos. E-mail your answers to Ms. Bermack's e-mail address at school.

After Ms. Bermack writes the names on the board, the class will discover how many famous people they know have tattoos. Then, the class will discuss the reasons why they think these celebrities have chosen these images for their tattoo. The teacher will write a list on the board.

Activity 2: Why Do Some People Get Tattoos?
Students will be paired up with a partner. The teacher will assign each group an article and interview to read. Each group must create a list. This list must state various reasons why some people get tattoos and others don't.

Locate and print the material on the following websites and or links.

Each group will present their list to the class. In a class discussion, students will discuss whether their list is similar to the one they had created in the first activity.

Activity 3: Write a story about how it feels to get a tattoo.

Think about the kind of tattoo this person would like to get and where they would place it on their body. Make up a story describing how you think this person will feel about their first tattoo. Please use the facts from their bio to surmise the style, type of image, and body placement this person would choose.
