Mountains have their own
cultures just as countries and people do.
- Did any of you find
similarities in the two mountain ranges?
- Did you find any differences?
-
Was the climate the same?
- Did the same kinds of animals live in both
environments?
- Did you notice that the words to the music were stories
about people in the mountains?
- Can you think of other mountain ranges
that remind you of the Appalachian or the Rocky Mountains?
- Did working in a
small group help you better understand your topic?
- Did you discover
that you could do a more complete presentation when working in a group
than by yourself?
- What other
advantages did you discover from team work?
It is important to
understand that the geology, folklore and history are just some of the
things which give each mountain area it's own culture and character.
Each part of mountain culture contributes to the rest until whole
communities are born reflecting this culture. Just like working in
teams, you each contribute a little bit to create a whole piece!
