Follow these simple steps!

Introduction | Task | Process | Appalachia Resources | Rockies Resources | Evaluation | Conclusion | Teacher Page | Home

Step 1

Go to your resource page and look at some of the topics listed. Make a list of the 3 topics that interest you the most.

Step 2

Meet as a group and review all your topics.  Each member of the group should now decide the topic they will investigate. (Each group member must have a different topic).  You may use sources beyond these web sites such as library books, videos, old newspapers and posters.

Step 3

You are collecting data to do a PowerPoint presentation.  Print out some of the stories that interest you and then take good notes.  Remember that you will be handing in your notes at the end of the project. Your presentations must give an accurate portrayal of what life was like in your mountain range.

Step 4

In class, meet with your group and review your notes.  Then create your PowerPoint slides. Each group member will create their own slide based on their research.   Be sure to include a Title Slide with the name of your presentation and all your group members listed. (Hint! Remember to use the same style background because this is one presentation as a group, not 5 individual slides.)  This is a good time to look at the evaluation rubric to make sure you are on track!

Step 5

Present your PowerPoint. Congratulations! This might be a good time to take a peek at the Conclusion page!
