WNTC/PACE WEBSITE DESIGN FOR NON-PROFITS

WNTC is constantly looking for Westchester not-for-profit organizations in need of website design services. The organizations work with Pace University's community-service "Website Design for Non-Profits" program. The program provides a new website for those organizations that do not currently have one or a redesign for those organizations unsatisfied with their current website.

Please take a look at this PDF file, where it explains the details of the program and what is expected from you, our customer and from us as the provider.

WEBSITE DESIGN TESTIMONIES

The Westchester Not For Profit Technology Council was instrumental in helping us work with Pace University students to redesign and enhance our website. The project was a catalyst for our organization to improve the way in which we use our website to reach out to those affected by cancer.

Judith Dobrof, DSW
Executive Director, Cancer Support Team

The Westchester Not for Profit Technology Council gave our child care center a way to create a presence on the Internet by creating a website using the talents of Pace University students and their excellent professor. We had control of the content and look of the site and are very pleased. This is a project that would have had to wait until we found the extra money to pay a designer. Our experience was very positive and we are so grateful that the Council made it possible!

Cindy Veasy
Executive Director, Happy Harbor Child Care Center

As a small non-profit we were aware that a good website was instrumental for our visibility in the community, but did not have the resources to develop and post a solid website. Armand Keim, who was representing the Westchester Not for Profit Technology Council, worked with us to create a website we could be proud of. Not only did he assist with the site itself, he was able to team us up with website designers and website hosts so that we now have a website on line that has been valuable to the growth of the agency. Clients, students and donors have all used our website both to find out more about our services and to do research on the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Of recent, the most important function that our website played was following a devastating loss of our offices due to a flood and resulting asbestos contamination, we posted a notice on our website which generated much needed support.

I wish the Westchester No for Profit Technology Council the best in their ongoing endeavors to support the not-for-profit community in such a valuable manner.

Executive Director, The Child Abuse Prevention Center of New York

I have just returned from the presentation by the two teams assigned to the Westchester Concert Singers website project, and I must say I am very pleased. Both groups clearly listened to our requirements and addressed them in somewhat different but completely adequate ways. Each site has some design elements that I would tweak, but overall they are excellent efforts, quite polished. The challenge now is to select one, do a little revision and then launch.

Launching, of course, is a challenge. Prof. Mosely tells me that there will be further discussion as to how to train non-profit member individuals who would like to do maintenance, or how to contract for maintenance. Training sounds really good to me, especially if it is at no cost. I and perhaps one or two other WCS members would certainly participate. I look forward to doing what needs to be done to launch a new site within the first two months of the new year.

Thank you so much for your efforts in this non-profit /Pace University collaboration. I have enjoyed working with the students.
